Fire Fire Fire

What an exciting night we had last night.. We were going to go up the mountains and look at the changing leaves after church but didn't make it.. After church we headed into Grandma's for dinner and then to Lisa's for birthday cake for Amy.. We knew that there was a fire somewhere because of all the smoke and red sky but how surprised we were when we headed home to see that the mountains by our house were ablaze. I guess it was started by Camp Williams doing some machine gun shooting or something. All and all, over 1250 houses were evacuated and for sure some houses were lost... So sad.. and scary! We sat up in the apartment and watched the mountain burn, literally watched the fire come up over the mountain..thinking and talking about what we would grab if we had to, and worrying about all the people that were in so much danger and all the things they would lose. It was a windy night so it was scary but Chad went for a ride up the canal road and felt good about going to sleep.. The picture I took was from the street in front of our house. It's a little deceiving but it was pretty close.
